I haven't played The Cure for years, but After I wrote that line I dug out "The Walk" 12" and grooved on it. Basically, I like them up until about "Pornography"... then after that, maybe 2 or 3 songs, but not much else...
Saw them on their first 2 UK tours and ended up on the guest list and backstage at some show...a couple years later and I had no interest in them; I'm fickle like that...lol
The Cure: that's so long ago to me now that it seems like another life, another person... and it probably is.
