disproportionate use of elegance
stylised impulse fails as narcotic
a daisy chain falls from blue skies
deeper the depth of despair
but
you go on and on drawing breath
as a human reverse bellows
filling your pointless lungs with air
when smoke would benefit results
nicotine
stains your intellect and spoils fingers
highly polished glass fronts
glaze the world a distant away
but never far enough
to remove the trace of human remains
cold the heart of our culture
that wraps its legs around your
flacid flesh the better to constrain
your doleful, woeful natural needs
as
living portrays the dead as losers
